Water Scarcity.......Water quality and experiments !!

We live in Mahavir Enclave a small village in New Delhi,the capital of India. In our village water is scarce and even when its there its quality is not worth drinking.This summer was the worst......
It had been a week with no supply of water and thats when we realized how important water is for us.We had no water to drink,we had no utensils to cook food in cause all the utensils were dirty and we had no way of cleaning them,We couldn't clean our houses or wash our clothes...and then finally the day came when we heard the news that water was finally being supplied!!!
It was the that we did this experiment in our college (SRI VENKATESWARA COLLEGE,DELHI UNIVERSITY) TO DETERMINE THE TOTAL ,TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT HARDNESS OF WATER BY TITRATING IT AGAINST EDTA SOL (M/100).Prepare a standard solution of ZnSO4.7H2O
We were a group of 30 students from all across Delhi.We all got samples of water from our places and conducted this experment at our inorganic laboratory.
At an average our readings were
Total hardness = 150.15 ppm
Temporary hardness = 83.85 ppm
Perpanent = 66.3 ppm
ppm means
The results clearly show that the water we get for drinking on a daily basis by the municipal corporations are moderately hard...
on checking the ph of the water samples we got the range above 8 showing the quality of water being supplied in the capital of India!!
